She allowed handling and enjoyed being petted.** Volunteer writes: With her pretty young face and laughing eyes our Shirley could easily challenge the famous Miss Temple for her title as Americas Sweetheart, shes just that cute! Shirley may be all grown-up but show her a toy and shes a puppy again, sitting politely on command before dashing off to retrieve, returning at a run and hopping up to settle across my lap where she munches ecstatically on her prize. Though she prefers to keep her things, Shirley is no toy guarder (and received the best possible score on that portion of her behavior assessment!), I can take a ball from her mouth without issue and she nuzzles treats very gently from my hand too. Energetic and playful as she is off-leash, Shirley is a surprisingly good walker, strolling along at a comfortable pace and waiting until we hit the pavement to do all her business. Although she did well during her assessment and met another dog in the yard with friendly interest, out in the street Shirley does show a bit of attitude when passing large dogs (but remains chill with her smaller brethren) and her new parents will need to take their time when introducing her to new dogs - Shirley has high standards for her friends and not just anyone will do! Beautiful, affectionate, smart and so much fun, Shirley and her sunshiney smile are ready to go home whenever you are!
