— Sep 28, 2014 | Leave a comment Max Air limited on Sunday said it has completed airlift of its quota of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2014 Hajj. Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, the airline’s Public Relations Manager, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano that the airlift was successfully completed from different parts of the country in 81 flights. NAN reports that a total of 40,486 pilgrims were allotted to the Airline by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. (NAHCON) for this year’s Hajj. Dahiru said: “We completed the transportation of all our intending pilgrims, totalling 40,486, on Thursday, Sept. 25. “We even made some rescue flights. for some stranded pilgrims in Kano, Adamawa and Kwara states.’’ Dahiru said that the airline was also able to carry out 12 rescue flights for 6,000 stranded intending pilgrims in Niamey, Niger Republic. He commended NAHCON for the support and cooperation it gave to the airline since the commencement of the Hajj operation on Sept. 6. The manager expressed hope that the commission would maintain the tempo to ensure the success of the. Hajj operation this year.
