’Every community should get equal justice in Bodoland’ KOKRAJHAR, October 6: The President of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF)– Hagrama Mohilary on Sunday laid emphasis on the distribution of equal justice and development to all communities living in Bodoland region. Addressing a peace meeting organized by Kokrajhar district BPF at Bodofa Cultural Complex at Kokrajhar, Mohilary said he did not want any community to be deprived of facilities in the council. He said his council has been working for all–round development for the people in the region but it is not possible to do the same in all parts of the region at a time. “Since the formation of BPF in 2005, the party has done some significant development right from infrastructure in different sectors to higher education. Mohilary slammed over a section of Congress leaders in BTC areas who are hatching conspiracy against the BPF through non–Bodo organizations to weaken the party before parliamentary elections in the State in 2014. He said the Congress leaders like Chandi Basumatary and vested Bodo leader–Makon Sargiary who is also BTC MCLA are supporting the anti–BTC and anti–BPF activities of non–Bodo organizations with an aim to capture power in the parliamentary election. Mohilary also said the NDFB (Progressive) which once raise the demand for sovereign Bodoland has now put their eyes on BTC administration and they along with the ABSU want to capture the power of BTC. He held ABSU responsible as to why they are working together with the political parties like BPPF and UDPF and how far are they a political organization. He also said the NDFB (P) has been delivering anti–government speech in public meetings which is against the ground rules of the cease–fire agreement with the government of India. BPF president said the party will form a new student wing likely to be named–All Bodoland Students’ Union or Bodoland Students’ Union within November comprising students of all communities. He said that the new student wing will work for the interest of student community in Bodoland region as the party cannot move directly to the educational institutions to understand the problems of students and teachers as well. He also said that the BPF will go in all block level to note the problems of different communities to address. He further announced that the council will provide Rs 1 lakh each to those who have been killed by militant outfit recently including In–charge of Rupsi Police Outpost and driver who were killed in NDFB ambush in Kokrajhar district recently. Rajya Sabha MP– Biswajit Daimary said there were many reasons why the Bodos had to raise the demand of creation of separate state. He said the BTC has no power over the control of law and order, finance, relief and rehabilitation for which the council is not in a position to deal with the troubled situation in BTC. He said if the separate state is created, the safety and security of the people of Bodoland would be provided and all communities will get equal development and justice. On the annual State’s share, Daimary said the BTC received mere Rs 3.50 crore in the last fiscal for over 30 lakh population but the council should have been given over Rs 1,500 crore annually on the basis of population ratio. He severely criticized the non–Bodo organizations like Aboro Suraksha Samity, Sanmilito Janagostiya Sangram Samity, Asomiya Aikyo Manch and Sachetan Nagarik Suraksha Manch for hatching conspiracy against the BTC and its interest. He called upon people not to be scapegoat in the hands of these non–Bodo organizations who are working for their vested interest. MP– Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary and Ex–MLA– Hemendra Nath Brahma also delivered speech on the occasion. The meeting was also attended by MLAs– Pramila Rani Brahma, Pradip Kr Brahma, and others.
