Er kam gegen Abend an ein ungewohntes Haus und beschloss, die Nacht dort zu verbringen. Um Mitternacht brachte ein Dämon eine Leiche herein und ließ sie in der Diele liegen. Kurz darauf erschien ein weiterer Dämon und beanspruchte den Leichnam fűr sich allein, und so stritten sie sich beide um ihn. Once upon a time a man was traveling alone. He came to a vacant house toward the evening and decided to spend the night there. About midnight a demon brought in a corpse and let it on the floor. Shortly, another demon appeared and claimed the corpse as his and they quarreled over it. Il y avait une fois un homme qui voyageait seul. Aussitot, un autre demon apparut et reclama ce cadavre comme lui appurtenant. et les deux demons se disputerent. ひとりの人が旅をして、ある夜、 ただひとりでさびしい空き家に宿をとった。 すると真夜中になって、 一匹の鬼が人の死骸をかついで入って来て、 床の上にそれを降ろした。 間もなく、後からもう一匹の鬼が追ってきて、 「これはわたしのものだ。」 と言い出したので、激しい争いが起こった。 Dann sagte der erste Dämon, dass es nutzlos sei, sich weiterhin zu straiten und schlug deshalb vor, es einem Richter zu űberlassen, űber den Besitzer zu entscheiden. Und so ging es weiter, bis beide Arme, beide Beine, der Kopf und der Kőrper nacheinander abgerissen und mit den entsprechenden Teilen des Leichnams ersetzt worden waren. As he expected, this angered the second demon who grabbed one of the man’s arms and tore it off, but the first demon replaced the arm with one taken from the corpse. And so it went on until both arms, both legs, the head and the body had been successively torn away and replaced with the corresponding parts of the corps. Then the two demons, seeing the parts of the man scattered about on the floor, picked them up and devoured them and went away chuckling. Et ainsi de suite jusqu’a ce que les deux bras, les deux jambes, la tete et le corps aient ete arraches puis remplaces par les parties correspondantes du cadavre. Apres cela, les deux demons, voyant les membres de l’homme disperses sur le plancher, se precipiterent dessus, les devorerent et s’en allerent en gloussant. 案の定、一方の鬼は大いに怒ってその男の手をもぎ取った。 これを見た前の鬼は、すぐ死骸の手を取って来て補った。 後の鬼はますます怒って、さらに手を抜き取り、 銅を取り去り、とうとう頭まで取ってしまった。 前の鬼は次々に、死体の手、足、胴、頭を取って、 みなこれを補ってしまった。 こうして二匹の鬼は争いをやめ、 あたりに散らばった手足を食べて満腹し、 口をぬぐって立ち去った。 Der arme Mann, der in dem verlassen Haus Zuflucht gesucht hatte, war durch sein Unglűck vőllig außer Fassung greaten. The poor man who had taken refuge in the deserted house was very much upset by his misfortunes. The parts of his body which the demons had eaten were the parts his parents had given him, and the parts that he now had belonged to the corps. Who was he, anyway? Realizing all the facts, he was unable to figure it out and, becoming crazy, he wandered out of the house. Coming to a temple, he went in and told his troubles to the monks. People could see the true meaning of selflessness in his story. Le pauvre homme qui s’etait refugie dans cette maison deserte etait bouleverese par son infortune. Qui etait-il, en fin de compte? Incapable de resoudre ce probleme, il devint comme fou et se mit a errer hors de la maison. Il all avers un temple, y entra et raconta ses deboires aux moines.
