US stocks showed a substantial rebound on Friday as the markets benefited from a positive reaction to much better than expected monthly jobs data. Among individual stocks, shares of Disney moved to the upside after the entertainment giant reported a higher fiscal fourth quarter earnings compared to last year. 2. The majority of the European markets ended Fridays session in negative territory, after S&P downgraded Frances credit ratings. Rolls Royce gained as the engine maker continues to expect modest growth in underlying revenue, and good growth in underlying profit for the year. 3. Asian stocks fell broadly on Friday as fears that the Federal Reserve might cut back its monthly bond purchase program sooner rather than later overshadowed positive trade data out of China. Tokyo stocks fell sharply, dragged down by exporters as the yen held gains ahead of crucial US jobs data. 4. Chinas Shanghai Composite index fell as investors waited for cues from Chinas Communist Party meeting and a slew of Chinese data on industrial output, retail sales and inflation slated for release. Australian shares ended on a subdued note with expectations about further rate cuts capping losses to some extent. 5. South Koreas Kospi average fell to its lowest level in two months on renewed Fed tapering worries. New Zealand shares shrugged off weak global cues to end higher after MSCI announced it would add more kiwi stocks to its Global Small Cap Indices later this month.
