Luhnow annouced that he and Astros worried about Aikens health even if they trust his picther-ability and potential and make-up. So they couldnt help suggesting only 40% draft slot money of last suggestion they offer. Why they offered only 40%? Its simple. They want to be guarateed at least 1 round 2pic in next draft whether Aiken accepted or not. So Luhnow used draft rule improper. Whats more serious is that if Houston failed to make a contract with Aiken, one innocent amatuer player could not play in Pro-baseball league. Jason Nix who is the baseball player selected 5 round already signed with Houston Astros(he received 1.5 million dollars). However, according to the new draft rule, every major league teams should spend less money than limited(for example, Houston Astros can spend 8.1 million dollars to make a contract with 1 round players and 3.2 million dollars to sign up with 2 round players) and if they spent over than limited, they couldnt use their 1 and 2 round draft pic in next Major league draft. And if they were not able to sign up with high round players, they couldnt spend less money than first limited(for instance, if Brady Aiken gave up to wear astros uniform, Houston might spend 60% slot money of limited first. so Houston could spend 2 million dollars as draft slot money in 2 round.) This means that Houston gives up to sign with Jason Nix for protecting their next year 1 and 2 round draft pics when Aiken decides to go to the UCLA. So, Jason Nix is not able to be pro-baseball player this year. In my opinion, Major league commissioner should purnish the Houston Astros and Jeff Luhnow. Commissioner has the power that makes Brady Aiken FA player. By making Aiken FA player, Houston Astros loses their valuable 1 round pic. So Houston Astros will not use their next year l round and 2 round pics due to their greedy.(save some money)
