06.06.2013 „Art without borders - 2013” officially started The official start of the public campaign of the International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” which will take place between 24.09.2013 – 29.09.2013 in Nesebar and Pomorie, Bulgaria, was given on June 5th, 2013. (plener.art-visa-bulgaria.eu/index_eng.php The concept of the Plein Air is to serve as a cultural bridge for the artists of Bulgaria, the Balkans, Europe and Russia. The target group of the Plein Air Contest is all artists and sculptors who actively create and who need a new stage, new motivation, new communication and vision for the artwork they produce. The International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” aims to provide a field for sharing good art practices and experiences, new methods and management of art that can make the profession of the artist more prestigious and to provide grounds for agreements and arrangements for the talented artists to exhibit their works all year round and through mutual contacts to increase the artist’s self-esteem. “The work on the start of the International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” actually started on April 1, 2013 and we already have more than 60 registered participants from Bulgaria, Turkey and Russia” – are the comments of the organizers, Art Visa Bulgaria and Festa Hotels. Invitations to participate are sent to the universities in Bulgaria, to the Union of Bulgarian Artists and its representatives in the country. The organizers closely communicate via e-mails, Facebook and other social networks. Also, invitations are sent to international organizations, unions and associations of artists and sculptors. The next step will be contacts with art galleries and with individual artists. „Priority for Art Visa Bulgaria as a new interactive media and art gallery in the visualization of new dynamic art marketing which will adequately communicate and in a broad media environment the achievements of the contemporary art” – says Maria Lyubenova, Director of Communications of the International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” Practically, the forum will visualize the successful symbiosis between the arts and the tourism which is not only a non-standard way to present exhibitions and cultural events but also is a unique option to present the countries as cultural destinations. The ambition of International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” is to focus on the very best that was created in the past few years. The initiative has no analog in Bulgaria as a concept, scale and number of participants and has the ambition to provide artists a new stage, new dialogue and communication, but also to create new communication practice for conducting and organizing annual art market. The following events will take place after the official start of the information campaign and before the Plein Air: - The information campaign for the benefits of the forum to the galleries, with a clear profile of the active artist will start on June 30th, 2013; - Presentation of the members of the Jury and the Program of the Plein Air Contest. A catalog-almanac of the contemporary art based on the presented at the International Plein-Air Contest “Art without borders – 2013” in Nesebar and Pomorie during the period 24-29 September 2013 will be published. The Honorable Chair of the Jury, academician Nikola Manev: Nikola Manev is born on 28 August 1940. He studied in the High School of Fine Arts in Sofia. In 1962 he was admitted in the French Academy of Fine Arts where he graduated in the class of Prof. Maurice Brianchon. For the past 48 years he lives in France but during the last years he divides his time between Paris and Varna. He is organizer of the Art Festival in Chirpan, Bulgaria. He created more than 5 000 paintings and has 150 sole exhibitions. Many of his artworks are owned by museums, galleries and art lovers of 25 countries of the world.
