#1 - Friedrich Nietzsche was neither far-right nor even right - TopicsExpress

#1 - Friedrich Nietzsche was neither far-right nor even right wing, nor was he especially political in any way at all. He was just a philosopher -- and while his writings were deliberately distorted and misinterpreted (long after his death) by people with their own political agendas, anybody who has ever actually bothered to read Nietzsche should know better. For example, Nietzsches concept of the Übermensch was a spiritual SYMBOL -- a goal, as it were, of individual aspiration, growth and transformation, towards which *everyone* should strive -- NOT a physical product of racial purity as the Nazis misrepresented it. #2 - Even if Nietzsche *had* ever stood for far-right political views -- which, again, he did NOT -- what makes right wing political views so vile that they cant even be discussed in public? And why is it that those on the LEFT wing are always so eager to censor opposing viewpoints? This is my principle complaint with those on the left wing -- or perhaps, to be fair, just the extreme FAR-left -- who incessantly *claim* to represent pluralism, inclusiveness and tolerance for all points of view, but nevertheless leap at every opportunity to insult and demonize anyone who disagrees with them, and have no qualms at all about squashing and silencing any debate. Its HYPOCRISY, and it infuriates me. #3 - In banning the Nietzsche Club, the University College Londons Student Union also passed a Fight Fascism motion, which says (among other things), that the root cause of fascism [is] capitalism. And naturally, one of those who led the movement against the Nietzsche Club is the President of UCLs Marxist Society -- a goddamned Communist. Never mind that equating Capitalism with Fascism is asinine; I wonder how any Communist can keep a straight face while condemning Tyranny of *any* kind. Perhaps theyve never studied the histories of every Communist government that has ever existed. Perhaps they arent aware that Communism killed many times more people in the 20th century than Fascism ever even dreamed of. Or perhaps again, its just willfully ignorant Leftist HYPOCRISY. It would almost be laughable, if it wasnt so damned evil. thedailybeast/articles/2014/06/05/university-college-london-s-nietzsche-club-is-banned.html
