(1) - THE SABBATH DAY AFTER CHRISTS DEATH NEVER CHANGED Matthew - TopicsExpress

(1) - THE SABBATH DAY AFTER CHRISTS DEATH NEVER CHANGED Matthew was one of the four gospel writers who wrote about Jesus Christs life, death, and resurrection. Evidently, the book was written after Jesus Christs resurrection. Writing on the account of Jesus Christs death and resurrection, he tells us in Matthew 28:1-2; “In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake; for the angel of the LORD descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.” Matthew never mentioned anything about the Sabbath change from the seventh day of the week to another day. In fact, he affirmed that the Sabbath was the day before the resurrection which took place on the first day of the week. Later, the first day of the week was named Sunday. And the day before Sunday was named Saturday. Apparently, Saturday was the 7th day of the week which was the Sabbath day. The same Holy Spirit which inspired Matthew also inspired the other three gospel writers who testified that Jesus Christs resurrection took place on the first day of the week; that was the day after the Sabbath day – (Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-6; John 20:1-6). In our todays calendar, Saturday is the 7th day of the week which is the Sabbath. The Sabbath will always fall on the 7th day of the week. (2) - BEWARE OF THESE THREE FALSE THEORIES ABOUT THE WEEKLY SABBATH * FALSE THEORY #1 The belief that says: The Sabbath is the Resurrection day which is Sunday. ** FALSE THEORY # 2 The belief that says: The Sabbath is every day of the week. *** FALSE THEORY # 3 The belief that says: The Sabbath is based on the new moon every month. This makes the Sabbath to fall on different days of the week every month. (3) CONCLUSION Jesus already warned us of the deceptions and false prophets of the last days – (Matthew 24:4-5, 11). Remember, we are to pray and worship God every day of the week; not just one day. But the Sabbath day of the LORD thy GOD is not every day of the week. Jesus says, “IF you love me, keep my commandments” - (John 14:15). Mans tradition to keep another day of the week as the Sabbath day besides Gods 7th day, is not of God. Hope that you are well informed and not become deceived by those three false theories mentioned above about the Sabbath day.
