1. Beautiful Bayaan! The Noble Reflection of the Prophet (S) | Mufti Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf ZamZamAcademy . also gives a brief explanation of the statement were it not for Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Allah would not have created the Universe and its varying degrees of authenticity. explains the High Status of the Most Beloved Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) https://youtube/watch?v=Bcbd08VwLC4 -------------------------- 2. (Al Kawthar Academy - Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq ) Love is not just a blind claim, but love is in obedience to Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ. One has to remain within the boundaries set by Allāh. You will taste the sweetness of faith if you love Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ more than anything else, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Three qualities if found in a person he will taste the sweetness of faith (imān); one who loves Allāh and His Messenger (ﷺ) more than anything else…” [Bukhārī] So it is part of Islām to not only love Allāh, but also to love the Prophet ﷺ. A sign of true faith is love of the Prophet ﷺ. We don’t really become true believers until we love Allāh and His Messenger ﷺ more than anything else “The Prophet is closer to the believers than themselves, and his wives are their mothers.” [Sūrat al-Aḥzāb, 33/6] Why is Prophet Muhammad ﷺ closer to the believers than their own selves? The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is our connection to Allāh, he ﷺ brought us the words of Allāh and our understanding of Allāh, he is Allāh’s representative, Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ and without him there would be no detailed understanding about Allāh, even though our souls would recognise Allāh and this is why he ﷺ is in that unique position. Allāh places him in that unique position. [This excerpt is based on a lecture delivered by Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq] We should love everything about the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When people become attached to historical figures, writers, actors, celebrities etc who have departed, they sometimes go to museums and with great love and affection view their clothing, artifacts, preserved belongings, walk along the same route and follow in their footsteps. The ṣahābahs level of love was totally different and their level of love were not just claims of love, but love includes the love of the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ sunnah, words, his ﷺ likes, his ﷺ dislikes, his ﷺ habits, his ﷺ noble way, so when he ﷺ says, one of you cannot truly believe until I am more beloved to him than “your parents, your children and the whole world” [Bukhārī, Muslim, Nasāʾī, Ibn Mājah], the reason is that our desires are to follow and be subservient the Prophet ﷺ who carried the message from Allāh. The Prophet ﷺ does not want his followers to worship him ﷺ, far from it, in fact he ﷺ said, “Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allāh and His Apostle. [Bukhārī]. The Prophet ﷺ went to great lengths to ensure that people don’t deify him ﷺ and don’t worship him ﷺ and went to great lengths to humble himself.
