I was bored tonight and was watching videos of singers, peoples opinions of singers (including some poor nut who has spent uncounted hours proving that Christina Aguilara sucks.) The one category consistently ignored (its beyond overlooked) is female opera singers. Everybody who is a little bit aware knows about Pavorotti and Domingo, maybe even Carreras (my personal favorite) but how many know about the women? Here is my nominee for greatest female singer of the 20th Century! (Ill try to put more substantive clips in comments.) My very close second choices are a tie between Beverly Sills and Marilyn Horne. And yes, there will be the Maria Callas fanatics, but sorry, she sang out of tune. No excuse, case closed.
