1. The Gracious God. 2. HE taught the Quran. 3. HE created man, 4. And taught him plain speech. 5. The sun and the moon run their courses according to a fixed reckoning. 6. And the stemless plants and the trees humbly submit to HIS Will. 7. And the heaven HE has raised high and set up the measure, 8. That you may not exceed the measure. 9. So weigh all things with justice and fall not short of the measure. 10. And HE has set the earth for HIS creatures; 11. Therein are all kinds of fruit and palm-tree with sheaths, 12. And grain with its husk and fragrant plants. 13. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, O men and jinn, deny ? 14. He created man of dry ringing clay which is like baked pottery. 15. And the jinn HE created of the flame of Fire. 16. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 17. The Lord of the two Easts and the Lord of the two Wests. 18. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 19. HE has made the two bodies of water flow. They will one day meet; 20. Between them there is at present a barrier; they cannot encroach one upon the other. 21. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 22. There come out from both of them pearls and coral. 23. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 24. And HIS are the lofty ships reared aloft on the sea like mountains. 25. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 26. All that is on earth will pass away; 27. And there will abide for ever only the Person of thy Lord, Master of Glory and Honour. 28. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 29. Of HIM do beg all that are in the heavens and the earth. Everyday HE reveals himself in a different state. 30. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 31. Soon shall WE attend to you, O ye two big groups ! 32. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 33. O company of jinn and men ! if you have power to break through the confines of the heavens and the earth, then break through them. But you cannot break through save with authority. 34. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 35. There shall be sent against you a flame of fire, and molten copper; and you shall not be able to help yourselves. 36. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 37. And when the heaven is rent asunder and become red like red hide. 38. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 39. On that day neither man nor jinn will be asked about his sin. 40. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 41. The guilty will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. 42. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 43. And they will be told: `This is the Hell which the guilty denied, 44. `Between it and the fierce boiling water will they go round. 45. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 46. And for him who fears to stand before his Lord there are two gardens - 47. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 48. Having many varieties of trees. 49. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 50. In each of them there are two fountains flowing freely. 51. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 52. Therein will be every kind of fruit in pairs. 53. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 54. The inmates thereof will recline on couches over carpets, the linings of which will be of thick brocade. And the fruit of the two Gardens will be within their easy reach. 55. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 56. Therein will also be chaste maidens restraining their glances, whom neither man nor jinn will have touched before them - 57. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 58. As if they were rubies and small pearls; 59. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 60. Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness ? 61. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 62. And besides these two, there are two other gardens - 63. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 64. Dark green with foliage - 65. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ? 66. Therein also will be two springs, gushing forth with water. 67. Which, then, of the favours of your Lord will ye twain, deny ?
