1 of my very favorite tv shows is Law & Order SVU. Yup. For years, Ive escaped into the brutal world of their discoveries, perceived justice and injustice. Ive sworn Id stop watching every time there is an extra graphic episode. So far, Im still watching and Im ok with that. I recognize the violence I am choosing. I also recognize that this show helps me somehow. Last night, I watched one of the newer episodes and my favorite character, Olivia, visits a therapist for help with her own PTSD. I had to copy this down with pen and paper. I deeply appreciate how he points her back to the relationship she has with herself, and how Olivia chooses vulnerability.
