10-12-14 Even though we havent left the dock as planned, we still keep plugging along! Sunday was a Cleveland 278A V-12 instruction day with Chief Engineer Tom Payne and head mechanic going over start-up and record keeping on the port main. Earlier Dan had replaced the port voltage regulator. After testing it, it ran great, but the problem in getting the signal to the big electric motor to turn is apparently in the big control box (see photo below.) Chief Electrician Darren Miceli, Tom and skipper of the ship Ted Lahti will work on troubleshooting that on Wednesday. We do not get underway until everything is running as it should be. Comanche will remain at Bremerton Marina until this is repaired and Tyee Marina near Tacoma is ready to receive us.
