10 storeys providing space for 50 homes on top of almost 2,000 m² ground-level commercial space make the building which is currently under construction in London’s Hackney district the tallest solid-wood structure in Europe, ttjonline reports. The £ 10 million (€ 12.8 million)-project with its elevations clad in slatted larch is due to be completed in November. Through its strategic X-Lam Alliance with the Austrian CLT manufacturer Binderholz, Derby-based B+K Structures, a solid timber structural engineering specialist, is CLT subcontractor to the project.
