10 years and a day ago I was given the all-clear from stage 3 colon cancer. Needless to say, 2004 was intense! Four days into 2005 I visited friends on Whidbey just to see if my future might be there waiting to unfold. Indeed, in a day I had secured an apartment, and, stripped down to a nubbin in possessions and persona, planted myself. In 2014, the seed that had grown in this hothouse of kindness was set out again in the crisp variable outdoor world to flower and fruit. January 7 Blessing the Hands that Feed Us was released and another intense year later the fruit of this decade is ripening and Im joyously serving it up through the paperback (just released) and the 10-Day Local Food Challenge and other enterprises. A veteran of all this and more, amazed I am still standing and full of glee, I greet the life 2015 has in store.
