11-17 Today I am thankful for a job. When many people are struggling without - or the others who hate where they work, I am truly blessed. I not only really enjoy what I do every day, but love the people I work with. Not every day is easy. In fact most days are challenging. I also love that this job gives me the flexibility to work from home, volunteer in my community, and take the time to do other things I really love outside of work. I just returned from a 10 day trip to China for work and it was transforming. When I look at my resume and my path - its been a squiggly line to where I am. I often think God has a unique sense of humor because my job title is senior manager of global cloud platform engineering for the 2nd largest software company in the world. But - in 11th grade my teacher said you can take computers or typing but computers will be a fad so take typing. Then my undergrad was music education so I didnt need a computer. But I could type fast! Its funny how this journey has been quilted together. Incredulous actually. Ive learned a lot about myself through my career pathways and I know this - You can do whatever you set your mind to if you really try. I also know that where you think youll be - likely isnt. Or at least thats what happened to me. More than a few times. The best and sometimes worst part of all of my jobs has been the people. I wouldnt trade any of the experiences. Even the tough ones.
