11 JK people detained at Nepal border .......................................................... PTI Maharajganj (UP), July 3: Eleven people from Jammu and Kashmir, including five former militants, who tried to enter India from Nepal through Sonouli border, seeking to avail the benefits of Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation policy were detained. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) commandant of Sonouli, B K Bankhoti told PTI that the group comprising five men, four women and two children were sent to Jammu and Kashmir cell in Delhi, accompanied by troops. "The group had reached Kathmandu from Pakistan and from there crossed into India last night and were detained by security personnel as they did not have valid documents," he said. Bankhoti said they had left Jammu and Kashmir between 1989 and 2009 and were settled in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK). “Some of them had also been involved in militant activities”. He said they told security personnel that they wanted to take advantage of the Rehabilitation policy of 2010 under the J&K government and wanted to go there. According to the surrender policy, Kashmiri residents who crossed over to PaK between 1989 and 2009 would be considered for safe return. The SSB men will accompany the group till Delhi and from there the central intelligence agencies would take over.
