These cops are deliberately violating civilian republican supremacy over the cops. They are doing so because they believe they can do so. And in light of how far toward an outright police totalitarian state America has become, they are probably right in thinking they can get away with doing this with impunity. They truly are a mass totalitarian danger to civilian supremacy over the cops, which is one of the most ancient republican principles in republican government and republican governance. Their action here is dangerous and ominous.
