[12:58pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Jn 3:16-21 For God So Loved the World 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” olivetree/b3/Jn.3.16.ESV [1:41pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: I used to wonder y John 3:18b is so, but after reading it together with Romans 3:23, 6:23 and Genesis 2:17, I learnt we stand condemned up until we received the sacrifice of atonement, which is Christ Jesus. In John14:6, Jesus says he is the way, the truth, and the life. And in Acts 2:38, Peter is encouraging us to repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. And it is very important to do it right, as is encouraged below: [1:42pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Mat 7:24-27 Build Your House on the Rock 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” olivetree/b3/Mat.7.24.ESV [1:46pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Deu 32:44-47 44 Moses came and recited all the words of this song in the hearing of the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun. 45 And when Moses had finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 he said to them, “Take to heart all the words by which I am warning you today, that you may command them to your children, that they may be careful to do all the words of this law. 47 For it is no empty word for you, but your very life, and by this word you shall live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.” olivetree/b3/Deu.32.44.ESV [1:48pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Deu 5:32-33 32 You shall be careful therefore to do as the Lord your God has commanded you. You shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. 33 You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess. olivetree/b3/Deu.5.32.ESV [1:50pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Rom 10:8-12 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. olivetree/b3/Rom.10.8.ESV [1:52pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Mat 3:13-16 The Baptism of Jesus 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; olivetree/b3/Mat.3.13.ESV [1:54pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Rom 6:4 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. olivetree/b3/Rom.6.4.ESV [1:57pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Act 8:34-39 34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. olivetree/b3/Act.8.34.ESV [2:04pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Y am I troubling you with all this, when I know you wont read long stories, esp, if they are quotes from the bible. I pray God help, because this is from my heart that, we may reflect on on relationship with God thru Christ Jesus. That if if havent yet received Jesus Christ as our personal saviour, this is our opportunity to do it, and if we havent done it according to scriptures, it is the time to do it right. Also we need to verify if have been baptised and baptised according to scriptures and get things right while there is still time. For we follow the example of Jesus Christ in our baptism. [2:22pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Hosea 4:6 says my pple perish for lack of knowledge. You might have just be born by believing parents and have grown into a position of influence, follow friends, attracted by music, seek healing etc, and never left the church, but never had an opportunity to repent. Or you might have thru katikazi and springled water on your head or had an annoiting of oil on your forehead, or received the gift of holy spirit on your first visit to church. Now that you know the Scriptures, repent and be baptized for your relationship with Christ to start today. I dont doubt your zeal for Christ, but unless your are in him all is in vain. Paul thot was serving the Lord by persecuting the first church, but it was till a personal encounter with Christ on the way to Damascus that his employment with pay began. He even moaned the ignorance of the Jews in Romans 10:1-2 [2:23pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: Bible Verse - Rom 10:1-2 Chapter 10 1 Brothers, my hearts desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. olivetree/b3/Rom.10.1.ESV [2:24pm, 25/12/2014] Ousias: I wish we can all be saved and live according to scriptures thereafter till the coming of Christ. Amen.
