13/10/2014 Today’s Meditation: Hebrews 3:7-19 Victory Over Challenges of Life 12 Don’t Get God Angry! Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways. So I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter My rest. Heb 3:10-11. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer 1Cor 10:10. Six hundred thousand men left Egypt victoriously under an unimaginable circumstance and unbelievable miracles. Unfortunately only two men were left forty years after when they entered the Promised Land. The reason why the people who left Egypt perished in the wilderness was not because of the enormity of their challenges; it was because of the way they handled the enormous challenges. Really, the troubles that confronted “the church in the wilderness” were gargantuan; what they went through was far from being easy at all. But their reaction rather than the troubles was what destroyed them. They got God angry by their incessant murmuring and ceaseless complaints. From the point of the first challenge beside the Red Sea to the boundary of the promised land, all through the journey and despite the numerous undeniable acts of God witnessed by them, they were always rising in anger against their loving deliverer until they got Him angry and He swore in His wrath that they will never entered His rest. “And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness… Num 14:26-29. A murmuring heart is an unbelieving heart; an unbelieving heart is an evil. There is no man who possesses a murmuring and unbelieving heart that will ever be able to remain with God. “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God” Heb 3:12. When a man is always complaining about the troubles of his life, he will never be able to appreciate the love of God neither will he be able to see His loving provisions. A murmuring man is so engrossed in his anger against his Maker that he is blind to the provisions of God for his deliverance. God will never allow a challenge in the lives of His children without making a way for escape. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” 1Cor 10:13. To see the way of escape, it is important that one is not blinded by selfish murmurings. It is funning when man becomes angry with God! Many children of God can go to any extent to insult and hurl abuse at their Maker when things are not according to plan. That was what the people did throughout the wilderness journey. They never remembered anything good about or saw anything good in their God. That evil heart of murmuring will make a man to forget all the benefits of God in the past, he will never believe God for anything good in the future; the attention in buried in the troubles of the now. A murmuring man is selfish, myopic, unbelieving, irresponsible and evil. If there is a spirit a child of God must never allowed at all in his life, it is the evil heart of murmuring. Beloved, are you a complaining and murmuring Christian? Are you always speaking against your maker? Have you decided to stop going to church or abandon you God-assigned duties in the church because He has disappointed you? Please, don’t get God angry by your myopic view. Why don’t you remind yourself of the goodness of God in past times and by that develop strong faith for victory over the present challenges? Stop complaining; trust God for the way out. As long as you keep asking God foolish questions, you will continue to make a fool of yourself. Remember, God is not responsible to any man. Even if you do not understand what He is doing about your case, trust Him and put your faith on the line. Join the generation of Joshua and Caleb so that you will be able to see the end of your wilderness and joyfully enter the Promised Land. Stop murmuring; trust God. Don’t get Him angry; just follow Him in faith. The God of miracle will put an end to all your wilderness wonderings of your life today in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. That evil heart of unbelief, fear and complaints will die in you right now in Jesus name. From this moment on, your eyes will be opened clearly to see beyond the trouble into the triumph in Jesus name. Enjoy the grace of God in its fullness this week in Jesus name. You are blessed!
