14th Day, 3rd Week, AD 2015 Wednesday, January 14 #WordFromCurtis is... PERFECT STEWARDSHIP - 3 TEXT(S): Luke 19:24-26 24 “Then, turning to the others standing nearby, the king ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one who has ten pounds.’ 25 “But, master,’ they said, ‘he already has ten pounds!’ 26 “‘Yes,’ the king replied, ‘and to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. INTRO: We know from our dose yesterday that we have nothing of our own. But I still want to ask this question: is anybody so free and without any stewardship responsibility to God? Well, lets find out. ELUCIDATION: The lazy steward in our main scripture reading seemed to suggest that he didnt have enough. But hes so so wrong! Everyone has something to account for, to the Lord. By this I mean to say that, YOU have something in your possession as a steward which God expects you to INVEST and be successful in your bid to invest too. These things in our possessions are what I refer to as the AREAS OF STEWARDSHIP. Though there may be many others, Ive rolled some under others to have the following: 1. Life 2. Family 3. Position/social status 4. Gifts & Talents 5. Money 6. Body & Looks OUTRO: Looking at the enumerated areas of stewardship above, its evident that no human can claim he has nothing to invest for God and account of thereof. Were going to tackle these areas of stewardship one after the other from tomorrow onwards. In the meantime, keep being the steward God expects of you.
