16.1hh, 7year old, Bay roan. Ive come to the heart breaking decision that my boy is not the right horse for me he is the loveliest horse on the ground, good with farrier, hose, clip, box, catch etc... But he has a nap when in the showjump ring or if you try and make him hack out/xcountry in frount of another horse. He hasnt ever napped when I have hacked out on my own- he is great in traffic/ goes over motor way bridges and he is 110% if allowed to follow when with others. He is Snaffle mouthed at all times. He is 110% fine at training/ clinics/ if another horse is in the ring with him. Ive schooled him at home/ at training up to 1m20 sj and over intermediate xcountry fences and he is fine with drops, ditches, water etc... at a competition If he has another horse beside or in front of him he is fine. This is why I think a hunt/ team chase home would be better for him or possibly a dressage home as he Is a very nice looking horse with nice paces. Ive started doing flying chances, counter canter, leg yield etc. with him but Im not a dressage rider. I paid quite a bit for him as a show jumper but only looking for offers around £2000, he has the most amazing jump which is why Ive been trying to work with him but i want to showjump and he is not suited to this. He is sound, fit and ready to go..., i will be taking him hunting over the next few weeks, im sure hell excell at it!!
