Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam offers a broad and diverse programme meant for the fashion professional and their relations. Every edition Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam draws the attention of both national as well as international press and buyers.Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam is organized twice a year, the Summer/Spring edition in July and the Fall/Winter edition in January on the grounds of the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Throughout the year FashionWeek Nederland organizes publicly accessible events under the title ‘Zalando presents 10 Days Downtown’. The Frontrow Club is the public community of FashionWeek Nederland which is connected to the Downtown Programme. In Fashion in Business companies are brought together from both within and outside of the fashion industry with their shared passion for fashion. The programme focuses on creating opportunities within or in relation to the fashion industry. In collaboration with Programme Partner ABN AMRO, events are organised throughout the year, such as Keys to Success, which is organised twice yearly during the Catwalk Schedule. At the quarterly ‘Fashion Drinks’ event, FashionWeek Nederland, FashionUnited and TAO Group provide a moment where fashion professionals can conjoin at beautiful locations in Amsterdam. Through our Fashion in Business Network, the exclusive fashion business community, entrepreneurs are enabled to visit events and to connect with prospects on a suitable level. FashionWeek Nederland has made it her mission to contribute to the innovation environment in the Netherlands and the development of the Dutch fashion industry, with Vodafone Firsts Fashion LAB.Vodafone Firsts Fashion LAB - a laboratory for talent and innovation - is an on-going programme consisting of catwalk shows during FashionWeek and a range of workshops, lectures and presentations that encourage innovation and support young entrepreneurs throughout the year. FashionWeek Nederland and Vodafone aim to empower young people to set their first steps into a professional fashion career. By supporting young designers who participate in Vodafone Firsts Fashion LAB, FashionWeek Nederland and Vodafone help them to realize their ultimate dream: becoming a renowned fashion designer. By using the Vodafone technologies to share content and enable a livestream, Vodafone increases the reach of these ambitious talents exponentially. The concept of ‘Lichting’ is simple: the best academy graduates of one year in one central catwalk show. In the audience are the 700 most important people for the next step in their careers: fashion journalists and influential stylists, ready to spot the next big thing; CEO’s and design managers on the look-out for talent; and the all-important players-behind-the-scenes, all eager to see what the nation’s academies have brought forth this year. Lichting was founded in 2007 to bridge the gap between the academies and students on the one side and the talent-hungry fashion industry on the other. Lichting brings together the very best of each of Holland’s seven fashion academies. As a result, Lichting is one of the most highly principled fashion events in the Netherlands, both in terms of quality and representation. Fashion Week Amsterdam has received international recognition for its initiatives towards strengthening the Dutch fashion industry, stimulating interdisciplinary collaborations and sustaining our planet’s biodiversity.
