1st Rescue of 2015 Today evening around 5.30pm I was passing by along Hennur main road when I heard a dog crying in pain. Stopped to look & found a beautiful black dog, lying by the side of the road.... NO she wasnt visible at all.... She was covered by a flex cut out (some hoarding about local politics). I found her below that, injured, howling and unable to move. The rear part of the body was wet, legs paralysed and drenched in her excreta. The plants where she lay (for 2-3 days Atleast had begun to decay and it was a bad stench. What melted my heart (which doesnt take much in case of ANY dog) was that as soon as she saw me, she stretched out her paw to me..... Dragged herself sideways towards me and her paw was holding my hand the next minute. OF COURSE, I knew that I wont let go of her hand from then on until she was safe. Madhu G Bhagwan was there who rushed to get her some food and water and she ate it quickly. In 10 mins Anusuya Phukan rushed to the spot (sweet angel she is and never says no to any rescue till date) Sendhil Kumar S rushed there too on being informed. We stopped , an auto, a localite gave us some olds clothes to wrap her and then Toni Freer joined us. The locals Informed Madhu that 2-3 days ago he was hit by a car driven by some Black men (they drive without licence and drive real rash 😡).... They didnt evn stop to check or help. These locals pushed her to the side of the road and cover her with a huge cute out (which was really not helpful coz she couldnt have never been spotted) One call to Rakesh Shukla sir, I made. Just to ask him, what we could do. Without wasting a second he told me to get her over to the care of VOSD. All I wanted was an advice from him, when all other NGOs give reasons.... But no, I got more than what I expected. god bless my Idol. Sir, I respect u ever since Ive known u, but this is only increasing every day. Me and Toni put her in an auto, and Madhu and Sendhil followed us in bikes (to help in getting us back). Once there, the poor dog had pooped in the auto.....the driver who was Initially hesitant and demanded extra didnt even ask us to clean up. But me and Toni washed the auto mats for him. Yeah. We can do anything for a Dogs sake. The dog was attended to immediately and I know - if there is a chance at life and recovery - VOSD will do all it takes.
