2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV [3] But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 1 John 2:15 KJV [15] Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Galatians 5:16 KJV [16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. We live in the land of plenty. We have freedom that other nations only dream of. We are free to worship or free not to. There are those in the United States who are hungry, but I think its safe to say that doesnt include you and me. Instead you and I...we have way more than we need. Dont we? How many of you have thrown food out this week? Do we recognize the privilege of getting in the car and driving to a restaurant and sitting down to have dinner with our family? What about the clothes we wear? I think its safe to say we all have decent clothes. Where did you sleep last night? In a warm bed or under a bridge? Yea...me too. And listened to the rain hit the roof top. Not only do we have all we need, but life has become so automatic with just the touch of a button. How many of us have a smart phone now? America would panic if we had no internet service. Wouldnt we? 30 years ago, the idea of a hand held computer, a phone, a radio, a calculator, a GPS, a Bible, and so much more all in one seemed impossible. The only thing comparable was Inspector Gadgets watch....some of you may be too young to remember:) Ok...so to the point. Yall, we have become so blinded by all our blessings that unless we are intentional, we will forget where they came from. We have so much that we tend to feel self sufficient. So you see....the enemy can use all these good things to keep us on the broad path with the majority. So...how do we prevent ourselves from this blindness?? 1 Thes 5:18 IN ALL THINGS, GIVE THANKS. Know that what you have is not yours. It requires humility. James 4:10 reminds us to HUMBLE OURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD. Satan can turn blessings into pride if we allow him to, but lets remember that The Holy Spirit is dominant over the evil one. 1 John 4:4 KJV [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. We may live in the land of plenty, but we also live in a fallen world. Without Jesus, we will fall with it. He is our only hope. John 14:6 KJV [6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. God bless and happy Sunday!!!!
