(2) New Testament Sacrifices All the Old Testament sacrifices - TopicsExpress

(2) New Testament Sacrifices All the Old Testament sacrifices were shadows of the sacrifice of Christ. The New Testament writers jealously guarded the truth concerning Christs sinless sacrifice. They emphasized Christs body and blood. Some of the major passages are listed here. (a) Jesus took bread and wine as symbols of His own broken body and shed blood. By this act He established the covenant table for all believers (Matthew 26:26-28; Luke 22:19- 20; Hebrews 9:17-23). (b) His body and blood were offered on Calvary as the sinless sacrifice and oblation, fulfilling and abolishing forever all animal sacrifices (Daniel 9:24-27; I Peter 1:18-20; Hebrews 10:1-3). (c) Paul received a special revelation of that which is symbolized in the New Covenant table of the Lord, concerning discerning the body and blood of Jesus (I Corinthians 11:23-32). (d) Christs body and blood fulfilled all the sacrifices used in the feasts of Israel (I Corinthians 5:6-8; Hebrews 10:19-20; 13:10-13). (e) The body and blood of Christ is now the believers daily sacrifice. Not that which the Roman Church presents in the daily sacrifice of the Mass, but that ever-fresh sacrifice of Christ available daily for the needs of cleansing for all believers. (f) The writer to the Hebrews devotes two chapters to the body and blood of Jesus in heaven for us. Hebrews 9 deals with the blood of Jesus, the word blood being used over 10 times. Hebrews 10 deals with the body of Jesus, showing its supremacy over the bodies of animal sacrifices. Apart from the body and blood of Jesus there is no salvation for sin. Christ has no ministry apart from His sacrifice. His resurrection. ascension. glorification. exaltation and session are all because of His crucifixion. Calvarys cross was the New Testament altar where His body and blood were offered. The foundation scripture for blood atonement is found in Leviticus 17:11-14. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your soul: for it is the blood that maketh atonement for the soul. The Lord also said And the blood shall be to you for a token ... and when I see the blood, I will pass over you ... (Exodus 12:12-13). Untold thousands of animal sacrifices were offered in Old Testament times, but Jesus offered one perfect, sinless, human sacrifice, once-for-all (Hebrews 10:11-14). The evidence of this sacrifice is in heaven. The body and blood of Jesus are incorruptible and therefore eternal. These will be the eternal evidences in heaven of our salvation. both having been supernaturally taken 10 heaven. Jesus would not have entered heaven without His blood. It is the blood which makes atonement for the soul. His blood and body did not perish at Jerusalem, nor did they see corruption. They are in heaven for us now and have been accepted of the Father as the basis of Christs session. What then is the significance of the body and blood of Jesus being in heaven as far as God and the redeemed are concerned? The following outline gives insight to this question. ++++++++++ Jotta A, Jamily, Brenda, Robinson Monteiro - Hallelujah - Programa youtube/watch?v=CkszIDioZYo ++++++++++
