2 Temple website launched Friday, 25 October 2013 Hyderabad, October 25: State BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Friday stressed the need for preserving temples and its sanctity. Launching two temple websites, templesofandhrapradesh and templesoftelangana brought out by the SriSwastic Info here at the press club here on Friday, Kishan Reddy said “the greatness of Hindu community lies in the fact that we all love nature. We perform puja to stones, trees, snakes and many other species and follow the path of nature.” Kishan Reddy said secularism existed in the country mainly because of Hindu community. “If the Hindus turn into a minority, there will be no secularism in the country. There are less number of Hindus in Pakistan and Islam is the only religion followed and hence there is no secularism. Similar practice is going on in Bangladesh,” Kishan Reddy said. Praising the organizers for introducing websites for the convenience of devotees, the BJP leader said the number of devotees going to temples was increasing every day and there was no proper information to the common people about the rituals, timings of the temples. “If we want to go to Tirupati, we have to prepare before a week, a website which can provide information to the devotees will come in handy, said Reddy. SriSwastic Info CEO K Sandeep Kumar said they have been working on the website for the last two years and it was supported by the department. The portal presently has over 1300 pages, which would be updated regularly with more temples. The site has details of temples like temple history, sevas, main festivals, accommodation details and astrology. The site will also have contact numbers of Archakas of temples, where one can talk to them on issues concerning to them. “Apart from the details, the portal has videos, which the users will not find on other websites,” said Sandeep Kumar. Sri Ramachandra Matt, Langar Houz Peetadhipati Kamlesh Maharaj, Endowments retired assistant commissioner K Hari Kishan, Telangana Archaka Samakhya president G Bhanu Murthy, Telangana Endowments employees’ union advisor Narsingh Rao were also present.
