2 screenings this week. 1st up, one of the weekends 2 big releases, the other being Clint Eastwoods Jersey Boys, the Kevin Hart sequel Think Like A Man Too. I call it a Kevin Hart sequel because the ensemble comedy that takes the gang to Vegas for a wedding has way too much Kevin Hart. he overshadows just about everything else in the film; and thats not much. the movie would be great on cable, but isnt worth full price theater fare. you will laugh a few times, but for the most part the comedy here doesnt work; especially if you dont like Hart. throw in some unnecessary celebrity cameos, a couple of token white characters, and the weakness of the other characters storylines, and youve got a very skipable movie. the other movie is Boyhood. director Richard Linklater, the worderful Before Trilogy, filmed his actors for 12 years to lets us watch Masons life as he goes from grade school to starting college. it stars Ethan Hawke & Patricia Arquette as his separated parents. its a very ambitious film & has strong performances all around. its also very long (2 hrs & 45 mins), and as entertaining as actually watching a boy grow up sounds. no movies for me this weekend, although The Ren Cen 4 is showing all 3 Transformers films for FREE on Saturday, so I might see the 3rd one since I havent seen it. but most likely Ill be down at River Days checking out BlackStreet, Guy, Mary Mary, & Keith Sweat. enjoy youtu.be/Y0oX0xiwOv8
