200 Pounds Plus of Holiday Cheer Delivered to Over 100 Deployed MWD Teams and Veterinary Staff Worldwide We want to extend our heartfelt holiday wishes and gratitude to the MWDS, treating veterinary staffs and their families for their selfless service and sacrifices for our country. Enthusiastic thank you’s go out to our lead partners – Support Our 4 Legged Soldiers and Park Ridge Animal Hospital (owners, staff, and clients) for their generosity and heavy lifting on donation collections and shipping; and to our dedicated supporters and donors. Without you these holiday gifts packages and year round support would not be possible. Since November our caring community and partners have been generously donating and shipping holiday gift packages to the military working dog teams deployed worldwide. The packages have contained everything from Christmas trees and holiday gifts to personal items including dental supplies, over 600 holiday cards and messages written by Bergen County NJ area Girl Scouts and students from West Milford Macopin Middle School, NJ, K9 reward enhancers and treats, veterinary supplies and medicines, etc. The military working dog teams (MWDs) have sent many emails expressing their gratitude for the holiday gifts here is one example. Just wanted to let you know that the vetrap, poo bags, and Christmas items all arrived this week! Thank you SO MUCH! I’ll try to capture the vetrap in use, it’s a godsend since we were so low. Love all the colors and patterns! We’ll take pictures of the tree when we put it up as well. Once again, thanks a million! (Afghaistan) As winter progresses the MWDS are seeking K9 warming vests and other K9 tactical gear. We will continue to travel this journey with our MWDS by sending as many items as our resources allow. My K9 partner Max and I were out on a mission one winter night while serving in Afghanistan earlier this year. We were huddled together in our sleeping bag shivering. I put the Ruffwear K9 warming vest that you sent us on Max and he stopped shivering. It was a lifesaver. SSG Nathan Leo and K9 Max Thank each of you for embracing the goodness of the holiday season with your generosity and kindness supporting the deployed MWDs. Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas everyone!
