2013 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards Nominations and submissions for the 2013 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards have now closed. Family Day Care Australia has been inundated with nominations for both educators and coordination units, with 2152 educator nominations and 344 coordination unit nominations received. FDCA now has the mammoth task of sorting through the heartfelt nominations and submissions to select the regional winners. Respected early childhood consultant Catharine Hydon will be assisting with the selection process. All regional educator winners from around the country will be notified from next week and announced in Family Day Care Matters on September 18. State winners in both the coordination unit and educator category will be notified towards the end of September and officially announced on October 2. All state winners will attend the Family Day Care Australia Visions of Excellence in Family Day Care Symposium in Melbourne in November with the national winners announced at the Gala Dinner. The heartfelt nominations FDCA received are testament to the important role family day care services play in the lives of working Australian families. We look forward to sharing with you in the coming weeks the touching stories that reveal the amazing bonds that exist between family day care educators, coordination units and the families they work with. Every family day care educator and coordination unit that was nominated in the 2013 Excellence in Family Day Care Awards will receive a certificate of merit.
