2013 has been filled with so many events that have passed in the blink of an eye. Some amazing... Some heartbreaking... But all worth being incredibly thankful for, as each helped to shape my life as I know it today, which I am most grateful to have. Where has this year gone? Thornton Wilder tells us in his play Our Town to slow down and enjoy your life while youre living it, minute by minute, because it could end much too soon. After reflecting on this past year, I realize how right he is. Life flashes by and if you dont stop to enjoy it for what it is, happy or sad, good or bad, itll pass you by and youll miss it. This same philosophy is taught to us by Ferris Bueller in his adventure-filled day off. Today may we all pause to look into the eyes of those near to us, to spend a moment extra appreciating the voice of those far from us, and take the time to reflect on those fleeting seconds of our lives and be grateful for each and every one of them. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans near and far who celebrate this great holiday. Happy Hanukkah to those in my life who share in this beautiful belief. And may love be spread to my friends afar whom dont partake in these traditions, but are no less important in my life. You all mean so much to me, and Im humbled by all of you.
