2014-04-29 (TUE) The meek It is interesting that Jesus said the meek will inherit the earth. WE often probably read meekness as weakness and ask the question – can this be so? But the meekness that Jesus is speaking of is humility with respect for others and willingness to go the extra mile – to turn the other cheek, And there is need for strength and courage for doing this and the reward for this meekness is inheriting the earth! Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. - Matthew 5:5 (New International Version) Lord Jesus, let us put aside our pride and selfishness and live meekly – in humility and respect for others and even willing to turn the other cheek when someone hurts us or takes advantage of us.
