2014 PORT BARRE HIGH ALUMNI TOURNAMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 I graduated from a school that I hated. I went to Baker High School my freshman year. I so enjoyed my year. Then they busted us to a school that was Bakers Rival Glen Oaks Sr. High. OMG I hated it there. Thank god I had an option that if I took 7 hrs a day I could graduate at the end of my JR. year so I did. All I wanted for 2 years was to go back to my school. I was born in Opelousas and moved to Baton Rouge at the age of 6 and started my school years there. People fuss about small towns and everybody knowing your business. Let me tell you that small towns are the greatest places to be. Sure we have our ups and downs but I DO NOT REGRET living here or raising my kids here. All 3 of my kids went to school here. I enjoyed the times I spent in the bleachers during football, in the gym during basketball when Heather played, & in the softball and baseball bleachers. I DO NOT regret raising my kids here and sending them to Port Barre High. I ask that we all continue building on the Devils pride that we have become accustomed to. To all the players this weekend you showed the younger kids what having been at PBHS is all about. Friendship and sport families that were built. Lets keep working together in the town to support all kids and give them a place where they can grow up and be proud to be a PBHS RED DEVIL. Everyone did an awesome job with team shirts. Till the next tournament ST LANDRY ABILITIES !!!!!!!!!!!! have a great week.
