2015 is near! How do people spend their last days of the year? Each year millions of people in the Netherlands listen to the top 2000 on Dutch Radio 2. The top 2000 is a list of the best music songs of all time and is composed by the listeners of the Dutch radio station. This year marks the 15th edition of the top 2000. Each year listeners vote for their favorite songs through the internet, resulting in a final list of 2000 songs. The top 2000 started playing on 25 December, at noon, and will continue to play until New Year’s Eve, twelve oclock. Queen’s song ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has traditionally been voted the number one song, but this year there is a new number one. For those who cannot get enough of this music marathon, Radio 2 announced yesterday it will start the top 2000 rehab days (in Dutch: Afkickdagen) on New Year’s Day at 1.30 p.m. CET. For another two days they will continue to play songs that have not made it to the top 2000 this year. Listeners can also request their favorite song. Have you become enthusiastic about the top 2000?
