Im going to take a minute or two to address something that has been giving me grief for a few months. As many of you should by now know, I cannot stand ignorance. While I believe everybody has the right to a set of beliefs I also believe that in that, they should be well informed on any of those beliefs held. As such coming across that ridiculous video Christan disproves Evolution by Joshua Feuerstein, has left me pretty heated and let me tell you why. This ignorant man begins his argument stating that evolution is not a science because its called a theory and because it has not been observed. - the problem with this is that anyone with a basic education knows this not to be true -evolution if it must be known can take place and be observed in prokaryotic life forms in time frames as short as days. It is merely the change in the inherited characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. And this is obviously observable. In relation to it being a theory - by definition A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method, and repeatedly confirmed through observation and experimentation. - which in no way diminishes its importance. He moves on from this to try to explain how evolution and subsequently the big bang theory cannot be true simply because he does not want them to be. He, in his misinformed idiocy - theorizes that evolution occurred out of the sheer will of a species to change. At this point one should consequently realize that this man is speaking out of his ass and has no clue what he is on about. For those who dont understand why - its because evolution in relation to natural selection is random, it simply states that due to random mutations certain species or variants will be better suited to environments. there is no will to change involved. In relation to my point before evolution and the big bang theory are separate from each other. They in no way correlate - evolution is NOT a theory on the origin of life. This moron then moves on to try and use the laws of thermodynamics, -which yet again are in no relation to evolution - to disprove his combination of evolution and the big bang theory. On, this concept I sympathize, as I realize its hard to understand. The second law states that says that the entropy of any isolated system not in thermal equilibrium almost always increases. Entropy in this case meaning a sort of chaos - (the number of different ways a thermodynamic system can be arranged) the problem with this is that this law only ever applies in closed systems that do not have external systems of energy. The earth and in fact all solar systems known do have these external systems. theyre called stars or in our case the sun. Since we receive continual energy from the Sun the law cannot apply. On a subpoint he continually refers to all this as an accident which sadly is unproven by any party and is impossible to prove so lets not even dwell on that stupidity Mr Feuerstein then closes his argument with a beautiful piece of poetry which states that the word Universe - by translation means one spoken statement. Sadly upon further investigation this,the climaxing point of both his argument is also the pinicle of his stupidity - universe is a word derived from the latin word uni - meaning one and versus - meaning whole - the translation thus being wholly one - as in all things known and unknown combined into one - the universe In conclusion to those who decide to read this I thank you - I only wished to educate and correct on some misinformation out there. I have nothing against creationism or christians. I infact feel that this lone individual tarnishes what it means to be christian and hope that his actions havent influenced any further stupidity.
