22 teams including Member State and EU Delegation in Lusaka officers were spread in Lusaka and round the country to observing the 2015 Presidential by-election. The observers were present at the polling stations at opening, voting, closing and counting, and visited numerous polling stations during the day. The general impression was very positive, particularly with regards to the patience and enthusiasm of the voters, the well prepared ECZ officials and presiding officers, as well as the party and security agents present who were showing great professionalism and dedication. Despite the short preparation time and harsh weather conditions the Electoral Commission of Zambia succeeded in conducting a successful the electoral process on the 20th of January.
