23 years ago, a brother, son, friend and a leader, human rights activist in his own right, student activist in his own right, an academic and intellectual, a gigantic scholar was brought forth by birth on this plant earth. I could not in any way think of anything else other reflecting on the leadership times that I have shared with this young man through out my University life. I sat and I thought, I thought and I thought again that perhaps it befits me to write about this mans massive contribution to the betterment and transformation of the Christian Fellowship that we belonged to in the past 5 years. When I was elected as the first joint Chairperson, he was the second in command, when I decided to relieve myself from the role, he ascended to the role of the joint Chairpersonship, holding this high office again, two years later. Establishing an academic programme for the members of the Student Formation came as a high esteemed commitment, he didnt end there, he, over and above all preached peace and love among the members of the SF. It is solely unjust of me to write this truncated notice and not reflect of the philanthropy part of this young man, disciplined as he is, focused, unassuming, he was never afraid to speak about the ideals closest to his heart. Today it feels good, it feels good without reservation that this young man has portrayed with strongest terms the meaning of humanness, he defined morals in a practical sense. He taught and obeyed rules and accepted authority where it was duly exercised by those upper than him with titles of leadership. A man of his stature, maintained the decorum of Christianity, Peace and Unity. He has emerged as an exemplary of the kind of leaders and leadership we need in the Republic of South Africa. To me, he is not just a former colleague, but a brother who is articulate, clear-minded and decisive, had we had school of leadership, definitely, without any doubt, it could have been named after him. It is on this note that I have named one of my 2015 Academic Development Plans; Mr SK Lebambo Academic Charter that is aimed at ensuring that my dearest fellowship members progress and succeed academically through academic support by means of adequate resources. Happy Birthday Mr Sipho Karabo Lebambo, you made your family and friends proud and you continue doing so, I wish you strength, wisdom, happiness and joy with yourself, family and friends, and may you live to see more years of success and propsperity. Kind Regards, DC Makola, Mr Auckland Park, 2006
