27% of women and girls in Kenya have undergone Female Genital Mutilation. There are FOUR types of FGM, ranging from partial and complete removal of the clitoris to the complete removal of the clitoris and labia, narrowing of the vaginal orifice and other harmful procedures to the female genitalia for non-medical purposes, for example: pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterization.
