#2States is a charming, subtle and funny modern romance and it works because it stays true to the book Chetan Bhagat wrote. Alia proves her mettle with acting. Arjun struggles but its fine. Amrita Singh makes a great comeback. Ronit Roy, Revathi & Shiv Kumar are fine in character roles. Music is A grade, youll carry Mast Magan & Locha-e-Ulfat with you when you leave theatre. Director Abhishek Varman is another gem from Karan Johars factory, more than anything else its the direction of the movie which makes 2 States fall in the league of hits of 2014. Though I feel that novel adaptation are not better than novels but after 3 Idiots & 2 States my perception goes wrong. May be it happens with Chetan Bhagat novels. (I am not comparing the two, It stands nowhere near to 3 Idiots). For those whove fallen in love on the college campus, this movie is for you. Highly Recommended ! P.S. If Bollywood Rom Com is not your idea for entertainment, please stay away from it.
