Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reprogram give wisdom; but a child left to himself bringers his mother to shame.1 Corinthians 4:21 What will ye? Shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness? Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou bestest him with the rod, he shall not die. (3) The key here is we as parents have a responsibility to do what Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Because of these scriptures right here Proverbs 3:11,12 (11) My son, despise not the chastening of The Lord; neither be weary of his correction: (12) For whom The Lord Lovett he corrects; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Deuteronomy 8:5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chastenth his son, so The Lord thy God chastenth thee. Lastly to bring it home our brother John says it like this in John 15:2 Every branch in me that bearth it not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that bearth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
