Time going by so fast at ATHE. Despite attendance at conference being down this year for many reasons--heat, location, expense, scheduling and or the politics of Arizona--still hundreds of people here, a plethora of great panels, Sessions and friends, political actions and responses. Always too much to take in. And of course, swimming to be done. I swam twice yesterday. Was a respondent on a great and full session yesterday that explored compassionate dramaturgy and female embodiment in three plays that looked at the impact of war or terrorism on women. Tremendous papers and so good to know this work is being done. The beauty of the outdoor environment is incredible. And while the heat hits my eyeballs like opening the door to an oven every time I step outside, I am knocked out by the gorgeous landscape. The cactus, the mountains and expense of sky, the birds. Another full day today including talking about the dramaturgy and process of our dance theatre piece One World about the DisAbility Project on a panel at 8:15 am.
