3:00pm 9/18 UPDATE: Spoke with the nurse just now. Oxygen levels are improving. They continue to monitor him for when he will be ready for surgery. The nurse just did a neuro exam on him and he was obeying instructions quickly to squeeze her hand and what not. Maybe a female nurse is a good idea??haha He had his eyes open and was attempting to talk, although this is quite stressful for him since he has a tube in his throat and is unable to. They tend to keep him quite sedated and wake him up for an neurological exam every 4 hours. He has responded to us even though he was very sedated when we left the last 2 days. If you ever have a loved one in intensive care they arent as out as they might appear. I read him your posts of encouragement and played a video of greeting from his kids for him . His eyes are closed but Im sure he is receiving all the love that is going his way.
