3/12/14. Thought for today. James 1:21 (KJV). Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Meekness means humility and submission to the will of God. Submission to the will of God means submission to the WORD of God. What it is saying is, lay aside all the cares of this old world, and all of its filthiness, and receive the word of God. In order to be submissive to God you have to know His word. His word tells you what he expects of you, how he wants you to live, how he wants to bless you, how he loves you, how he wants you to walk upright before him. Now lets look at the word ENGRAFTED. the word engrafted means to become part of something. You come engrafted to the word of God. You grow in it, and it grows in you. Us Gentiles are always so thankful that we were grafted in. Are we just as thankful to be grafted TO Gods word? No matter who we are, whether Jew, Gentile, Greek, Latin, what ever race or kindred or country we are from we all have to have a love to want to be grafted TO Gods word. That IS THE LIFELINE for the spirit man. If the spirit man is going to stay strong in you and in me, we HAVE to stay grafted in to Gods word!! And when we are grafted in the word, we can begin to see ourselves becoming the word of God. Just remember in John 1:14 the Word became flesh. We are flesh, and in order to become the Word, our flesh has to become grafted into the word so we can become the word.
