3/15/14: Saturday – EHRC – 16221 Bear Bayou Dr. Channelview, Texas 77530 WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT: Take your stand now.....on IDENTIFICATION! The message of identification is I believe, one of the greatest revelations of the New Creation. Identification means our identifying with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, resurrection and seating in heavenly places at The Fathers right hand. Identification is the legal aspect of our redemption whereas the reality of redemption is what the Holy Spirit is doing through us now! In Pauls letter to the Church at Galatia he deals with the matter of our freedom in Christ as against being bound in legalism by the law. We need to learn to take our stand in this liberty as Galatians 5:1 says we should. Gal 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. NIV In Chapter 2:20 Paul by the direction of The Holy Spirit makes one of the Bibles greatest statements:- King James Version: I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. The Amplified Bible: I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me: and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me. This translation shows more correctly that it is past tense. I HAVE BEEN crucified.... Paul is telling us something exciting here if we are alert to pick it up in the spirit realm. Let me show you something that I believe will be a blessing to you as you live your life here on the earth.... I HAVE BEEN crucified WITH Christ... I HAVE BEEN buried WITH Christ... I HAVE BEEN resurrected WITH Christ... I HAVE BEEN raised up WITH Christ... I HAVE BEEN seated in heavenly places WITH Christ... He identified with us in our sin and became sin for us so that we might identify with Him and become the righteousness of God in Him 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us. He identified with us and became as we were in order that we might identify with Him and become as He is 1 John 4:17 points out. I HAVE BEEN crucified WITH Christ. Note Romans 6:6 Knowing this that our old man WAS crucified WITH Him that the body of sin might be done away, that we should no longer be in bondage to sin. When Jesus went to Calvarys cross and died there He did not go as a martyr He did not go for Himself! He went as our substitute! When He went to Calvary we went there with Him and were crucified WITH Him! When our substitute died, we died to sin and were set free from its power! Galatians 3:13-14 Christ hath redeemed us from the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Paul in using the word us in v13 is referring to the Jews. Jesus came as a Jew under the Abrahamic Covenant. Remember Gods word to Abram in Genesis 17:1 when He told him to walk before Him and be perfect or upright or righteous. As you are well aware neither Abraham nor any of his descendants were able to walk perfect before God so all the Old Covenants failed, because ..there was none righteous, no not one...” Romans 3:10 shows the reason for the failure was not on Gods part but on mans part, man was unable to keep the law he sinned either in thought, word or deed. Then Jesus came as the seed of Abraham, a Jew born under the Abrahamic Covenant, the Old Law, and He fulfilled the demands of it. He went to Calvary under the Old Covenant, He died under the Old and in His death, defeated the demands of it and introduced the New Covenant that is based on better promises Hebrews 8:6. Galatians 3:13 He became a curse FOR us... He became the curse of the Law, He became sin, and He became sickness in order that He might destroy the power of sin and sickness by nailing them to the tree. In doing so He set us who are Abrahams seeds [Galatians 3:29] free to be redeemed from the curse and become the righteousness of God in Him [2 Cor 5.21]. He took our sickness in His body and nailed it to the tree at Calvary in order that He might demonstrate His health in our bodies [His Body] after Calvary. Its all a matter of identification. We need not only to identify in His death, burial and resurrection, but also in being MADE ALIVE with Him. [Colossians 1:18, 2:13, Ephesians 2:5, Romans 6:5, 1 Peter 3:18] I trust that you can begin to realize that this message of IDENTIFICATION is an exciting revelation. Why not make a more detailed examination of this study and the related Scriptures, look for more cross references in your own Bible and allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten you. So take your stand now.....on IDENTIFICATION!
