3-Day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign concludes Pro-active approach needed for progress, growth of Kargil: Ali Karbalai KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 19: Chief Executive Councillor and Chairman Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Haji Asghar Ali Karbalai Wednesday called upon the people to redouble their efforts to achieve sustainable and equitable socio-economic development of Kargil. Addressing an large gathering at the valedictory function of three day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at Auditorium Hall here, organized by PIB Sringar in coordination with LAHDC and other media units of I&B Ministry, the CEC said people need to work hard with honesty to achieve real progress, prosperity and excellence in all the fields of life. He urged people of Kargil to focus on education, health care and equip themselves with modern technology and professional expertise to compete with the rest of world. Lauding the efforts of UPA-II under the leadership of UPA Chairperson Smt Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in launching a battery of public welfare schemes and initiatives, Haji Karabalai expressed his gratitude to PIB for organizing awareness initiatives like public information campaign to reach out to the common masses in far flung and most difficult areas like Kargil. He also complimented the joint efforts of District administration, different State and Central Government departments, NGOs, print and electronic media for bringing information about various Government initiatives and programmes at the doorsteps of the common people in Kargil. Cultural groups from Song & Drama Division and students from local schools presented theme based cultural programmes. Besides, cultural troupes from J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Kargil presented traditional Ladakhi folk songs and dance. The Chief Guest along with Mr Nasir Munshi, Ex Executive Councillor, Addl DG PIB Srinagar, Obaidur Rahman and other dignitaries distributed mementos and certificates among over 40 participating departments who displayed their products and achievements at Indoor Stadium, Kargil.
