3 negatives - the jazz festival is finished. Probably not much in the way of concerts till the summer now. Used to be more but La Crisis stopped funding for things like early music. Finances terrible for us in the last year. Hope I have enough to buy a season ticket in May for the Mar de Musicas concerts in July. Much as I love food I love music even more, Need both. No expats in central Cartagena but some come in from other towns for the jazz. Their language skills make me cringe. Having a montadito at the bar in Teatro Circo yesterday. One guy told his friends his Spanish was great. The only word he actually seemed to know was ron for rum. He did the rest with brand names except he got them wrong. Soberano brandy became Soprano. Bar staff were mystified by him asking for a soprano and he blamed them of course. Then there was another ENglishmen who thought putting something in Spanish meant just adding an o. He kept pointing to some empanadillas and trying to order a small one by saying SMallo. One of these guys also thought the word for beer was Tanque. Luckily the bar didn´t have any tanks handy
