30 Day Film Challenge: Day #27 (Independently Funded Feature Film): Blue Valentine Derek Cianfrances Blue Valentine isnt as much about the scenes of a marriage as it is a portrait of a relationship. It film travels back and forth between the past and the current and presents flashes of how it all went right as well as how wrong it has gotten to the point of no return. To me, its a story about the types of love between two individuals and how the decays of time can incite change. Love like life can be frustratingly complicated, uncomfortable, and at times too all consuming. Furthermore, Blue Valentine simply could never be what it is without mentioning the marvelous performances by Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling who are both at their naturalistic best together and are an acting duo that was born to share the screen together.
