...31 Days/31 Horror Movies: Day Ten: Dracula Untold: ...genuinely surprising...better than I expected, though not great. As I did my high school senior paper on Vlad the Impaler (...uh, back in the dawn of time, aka 1981), I might just have to double check my research, as I dont recall a period of peace with this historical character; he was always depicted as a violent, ruthless, merciless bloodthirsty hero amongst his people, through and through. Cinematic history ...with the exception of the Hammer films) has always romanticized the Dracula character, and THIS one most assuredly does that very thing, though on a grandeur operatic level. More than a little heavy on the CGI, and the ending does suck, but still...a lot of fun to be had, here...though, somewhat silly, at times...
