35 was the best year of my life- a year of fruition. The result of vision, hard work, failure, spiritual practice in the world. I had the honor of marrying the love of my life after six years of deep commitment to each others unconditional growth- a bond forged in respect and profound love. We moved to a beautiful space surrounded by nature, wonderful neighbors, and community. The main road winds out along country roads all the way to the mountains and my studio. Its an amazing drive every-time- artistic inspiration to last a lifetime. The biggest struggles and wounds I have had are around work and health. I didnt believe I could find a way to make the life I wanted in the Western world based on my values- it took a lot of commitment to keep working at it. My day job now affords me the opportunity to work early hours and have the afternoon in my studio. It provides a healthy environment and opportunity to interact with people I care about in the community. I eat well and nourish myself with vitamins and minerals. Im lean, strong, and full of energy. I feel firmly rooted in my life as an ongoing practice. Spiritual growth = emotional maturity. The external feedback to the question of if you are growing is simple- does your life work? Is there health, balance, integration so you can give your gift? There is time in the day for everything. Being a householder and living your dharma is a difficult path but not impossible. Its a superhighway of growth and not for the faint of heart. All wisdom traditions have known and honored this. Now that I am firmly committed to this path, the road has only begun. I am ecstatic when I look ahead- Im up for it!...:)
